Pension cock-up!

Height 5'7"
Weight: 10st 7lb
Woke up: sweltering hot
Walk to work: no, raining (well, that's my excuse!)
Gym-type exercise: none
Alcohol consumed: 2 glasses of red wine (1 now and 1 earlier at school 'do')
Chocolate consumed: Yay, I had a bar of chocolate today!
Other bad stuff: apart from the wine and the chocolate, nothing!

Yes, I had chocolate today. I wasn't salivating for it, just thought it might be nice - and it was! Can't do it tomorrow though.

My step-father died in February and I (with my sister) was executor of his will. My sister found an old pension policy that hadn't been claimed on so we sent it all off.

They sent back a claim form that seemed to bear no resemblance to what we were claiming for that required that the claimant (myself?) fill in the form with their national insurance number. I thought they had probably sent the wrong form but nonetheless I filled it in with my national insurance number but explained in the letter that I thought they had sent me the wrong form.

A letter came back that said the claim was approved. We're not talking mega-bucks here, just £55.00, but as executor I thought if the money was there, we should have it.

Then another letter came that enclosed a P45 for myself with my step-father's death date as the end of my employment at the Pearl Insurance company.

I have no idea what this is all about but phoned them and tried to explain they had made a big mess-up. Someone would phone me back they said. Still waiting.....

I don't know now if any official body has me down as dead having previously worked for the Pearl Insurance Company.

Don't believe the obits - they're not true!
