Regular blog readers will know that I love vintage advertising. It gives you a real insight into the social history of the period and can be quite amusing sometimes!
These pictures come from Photoplay magazine, an American film fan magazine that was published in from 1911 all the way through to 1980, these particular pics being from 1926 issues.
I think a bit of artistic license may have been used on the ad that features the budgies. I'm no bird expert but surely these are just budgies and not love-birds at all as it seems to be suggesting??
Perhaps if there are any bird-lovers reading this they can let me know the definitive answer as I want to use them in a forthcoming Printable Heaven set.
