In my research this week into new cat and dog images for our latest public domain image DVD, I came across some stunning pictures in the book simply entitled 'The Cat', a 1905 book by Violet Hunt.
The pictures are by Adolphe Birkenruth, a South African illustrator who was born in 1863 and died in 1940.
There are 12 of his sumptuous pictures in the book, 3 are shown below:-
